Connor Shaw Seen Throwing on Monday
This past Monday I was leaving Columbia and decided to drive past the Proving Ground, the Gamecocks’ practice facility, because I was curious to see who was taking reps at QB. Earlier in the day I had received the news that Connor Shaw was unable to raise his arm above his shoulder and by 5 pm had accepted the reality that a backup will be the starting QB against ECU. As I stealthily pulled my wife’s SUV next to the fence I was surprised to see none other than Shaw in his number 14 jersey (with no pads and wearing shorts) “soft tossing” several short passes. Two days have passed and I can’t help but think that Shaw may try to talk the staff into letting him start. That is classic Connor- a gamer and a leader who will try to play despite his injuries.
